Baan Gerda is a humanitarian non-profit organization that looks after AIDS orphans in Thailand. It is a project of the Bangkok-based Children’s Rights Foundation. The small village community cares for over 70 children who were born with HIV and whose parents died of Aids. The organization has no political or religious associations. The children’s homes have been built on land donated by a famous monk in the Lopburi province, approximately 230 kilometers north of Bangkok, Thailand. The regular visits with children ceased in early 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, only exclusive visits have been organized by previous and regular volunteers who still live and work in Thailand.  Visit their page to learn how to help: https://www.baangerda.org/

Fun is embedded from folding the paper, punching the holes, binding the sheets and if you want to show-off the “Picasso” in you, sketch on the notebooks too!

The Paintbrush Foundation is a non-profit organization established in October 2012 with the aim of creating positive social change through music and the arts. Inspired by the Playing for Change (PFC) movement and related Playing For Change Foundation (PFCF), the Paintbrush team began by arranging free music lessons once a week for underprivileged kids in the Khlong Toey slum community. Soon after, PFCF offered its support, and in June 2013, Paintbrush became the 9th music program to be officially endorsed by the Playing For Change Foundation. Thai Volunteer Service (TVS) began in 1980. We used a small classroom of Social Research Institute in Chulalongkorn University as our office for the Thai Volunteer Service Project. The place gradually became too small to accommodate young leaders from various universities throughout Thailand. As during 1980s, it was the changing period not only for Thailand, but also different countries around the globe. University students were eager to come and participate in discussion about democracy and social change.

A private charity bringing essential support to displaced people in and around Thailand. Our mission is to provide medical aid, education, support and micro-business opportunities to improve the lives of people living in remote locations in and around Thailand. Many of the communities that we support have extremely restricted resources which might mean that it is a constant struggle to feed their families, find clean drinking water or access even a basic level of healthcare.
